Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev shared with the latest figures on the implementation of the program «National Cashback» from the Ministry of Economy, characterizing the initiative as a «disappointing experiment».

The data show that in December-January, Ukrainians were paid ₴714 million — slightly less than the accumulated amount of ₴850 million in total and later than promised (funds began to arrive only on March 7, despite the planned February)To date, 3.4 million people have received funds — an average of ₴210 per person in December-January, or ₴105 per month (which is not enough even for a cheap monthly mobile package)

In total, only ₴1.1 billion has been transferred to Ukrainians since the program started (September 2024 — January 2025), although ₴3 billion was planned to be allocated in 2024 alone Interestingly, only 1208 Ukrainians have reached the maximum payment of ₴3000 so far.

Hetmantsev also provides figures on producer participation, which, in his opinion, indicate a «significant slowdown» interest in the program:

▪️середина November 2024 1586 manufacturers (324 thousand products);

▪️станом as of February 3 more than 1700 manufacturers (365 thousand products);

▪️станом as of March 7 1756 manufacturers (369 thousand products).

«There are also questions about the number of people whom the Ministry of Economy calls “active users” of the National Cashback. At the beginning of January, there were 4.5 million of them, and at the beginning of February has already exceeded 5 million, while only 3.4 million people have received payments for December and January expenses. The difference indicates either an incorrect use of the term “active users of the program” or an error in the calculations», concludes the MP.

The «National Cashback» program was launched in September 2024 to stimulate consumer demand for domestic products. According to the terms, the buyer will receive 10% cashback for each unit of purchased Ukrainian goods.

In March, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that program «longitude» and its is planned to be extended indefinitely
