Netflix has announced the completion of the production of a feature film based on the series «Peaky blinders». The company announced this on its official Twitter account.
The post was accompanied by a photo from the set, where Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan can be seen.
The film will be set during the Second World War. Steven Knight, showrunner of the original series and screenwriter of the new movie, claimed about two parallel storylines. One of them will focus on the younger generation of the Shelby clan.
The first season of the series appeared on Netflix in 2013, and the final sixth season was released in 2022. In June, Netflix announced that it was working on a feature film. There was also information about the possible filming of a prequel, dedicated to Polly, the matriarch of the Shelby family.
As a reminder, Netflix has already shown footage from the upcoming film: with a graying Thomas Shelby, Rebecca Ferguson і Barry Keoghan.
The film’s premiere date is still unknown.
