Netflix has released the finale of the series «You» about psychopathic killer Joe Goldberg

Published by Kateryna Danshyna

Starting April 24, Netflix is streaming the fifth and final season of «You» —, a psychological drama-thriller starring Penn Badgley as maniacal Joe Goldberg. All 10 episodes are available to watch immediately and in Ukrainian dubbing.

The fifth season picks up three years after Joe and Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) left London for New York. Kate now works as the CEO of Lockwood Corporation, and Joe is her seemingly faithful husband, whom the city’s esteemed public calls Prince Charming. Despite the fact that this duo «adheres to the agreement to help each other do good», it is obvious that soon unhappy adventures will catch up with Joe.

«In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York City to enjoy a happy life, but those plans are threatened by ghosts from the past and his own dark desires», — from the official synopsis.

The rest of the cast of the fifth season of «You» includes Madeline Brewer (Bronte), Griffin Matthews (Teddy Lockwood), Anna Camp (Reagan and Maddie Lockwood), Natasha Behnam (Dominique), Pete Ploszek (Harrison), Tom Francis (Clayton), Nava Mau (Detective Marquez), and others.

On Rotten Tomatoes critics rated the series at 77% (based on 26 reviews), while the audience was even less favorable, giving it only 69%.

  • «The final season of You — is a solid conclusion with good ideas, relevant material, but a slow pace. That doesn’t make it the best season finale, but it’s a decent one», — critic Zach Pope
  • «Penn Badgley delivers a compelling final performance as Joe. Although You has sparked debates about the romanticization of violence and morally gray men since its first season, the show ends by pointing directly at us: perhaps this is the real problem», — Kristen Maldonado, Pop Culture Planet.
  • «A treat for lovers of neuroticism and romance. The fifth and final season is very similar to the previous ones — bizarre and cunning, but has a fascinating twist that gives a chance for justice», — Riana Stark, Geeks of Color.
