New KIA Sportage: a variety of engines, 8-speed automatic transmission and a price of $20.6 thousand.

The Korean brand KIA has released an updated version of its compact crossover Sportage. The new model is offered both exclusively with an internal combustion engine and as a hybrid.

The sixth-generation Kia Sportage has an updated front end design. The headlights are now vertically positioned. A wide grille is located between them. The front bumper and wheels have also been updated.

More interesting changes can be seen in the engine lineup. Now customers can choose from the following options:

• 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 180 hp.
• 2.0-liter engine running on liquefied gas with a power of 146 hp.
• Hybrid version with a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and a 64 hp electric motor.

The gasoline engine is now paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which replaced the previous robot transmission. Buyers can choose between front- and all-wheel drive versions of the car.

The interior offers a 2-spoke truncated steering wheel and a pair of 12.3-inch displays used for the digital instrument panel and infotainment system. Other updates include reformatted central ventilation deflectors, improved sound insulation, and new shock absorbers.

The new KIA Sportage will initially go on sale in South Korea at a price ranging from $20.6 thousand to $35.3 thousand.
