Noctua and Seasonic team up to create a quiet 1600W power supply

Published by Andrii Rusanov

The result of cooperation between air cooling system manufacturer Noctua and Seasonic is the Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply.

Seasonic’s flagship Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition PSU was first presented at Computex 2024 and is now available for purchase. Its advantage is quiet operation when powering powerful desktop PCs. The original Prime TX-1600 model had a 135 mm Hong Hua fan, which has been replaced by a 120 mm Noctua NF-A12x25 fan that rotates at up to 2000 rpm and reduces noise by 10 dB(A).

The power supply retains semi-passive fan control — it spins 50% slower at temperatures up to 25°C. Fully modular and equipped with Noctua-style braided cables, the PSU minimizes clutter in the case. But the design may not be to everyone’s taste.

Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition is 80 Plus Titanium, Cybenetics Titanium, and Cybenetics Lambda A (low noise) certified. Noctua’s special fan grille optimizes airflow.

The power supply delivers up to 1600W and 133.3A on the +12V bus, making it suitable for installing multiple graphics cards and powering powerful AI systems in particular. The PSU is ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant and features two 12V-6×2 connectors. Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition will be enough for operation of NVIDIA RTX 50xx video cards. Its recommended retail price is $569 or €499.
