NVIDIA has shown tests without DLSS — RTX 5090 is 30% faster than 4090, other graphics cards received less acceleration

The advantage of NVIDIA RTX 50xx Blackwell video cards over their predecessors without using DLSS is 15–30% — the company has released additional performance tests.

NVIDIA shared tests for RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 in two current games. These are Resident Evil 4 (with ray tracing, without DLSS) and Horizon Forbidden West (without ray tracing, using DLSS Super Resolution, but without frame generation). The slides contain data for more games, but they are not suitable for comparison due to the enabled frame generation.

Without DLSS 4 frame generation, the performance increase is not as significant, but noticeable. NVIDIA RTX 5090 is officially 30% more performant than RTX 4090 in regular gaming scenarios, and RTX 5080 is better than its predecessor by 15%. The younger video cards, RTX 5070 Ti and 5070, have gained 20% better performance compared to RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070.

The improvement may seem minimal, but with DLSS 4 and support for new technologies Neural Rendering and Neural Shading, as well as new capabilities RTX Fur, RTX Hair, and RTX Skin, the video cards provide a technical advantage.

It is known that the embargo on reviews of NVIDIA RTX 5090 will be lifted on January 24, and it will appear in stores on January 30, along with RTX 5080. RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 will go on sale in February.
