ChatGPT received the Tasks feature (currently in beta), which will allow you to schedule future actions or reminders.
These are designed both as one-time tasks and recurring ones — for example, you can ask ChatGPT to report daily weather forecasts to you. Interestingly, the chatbot itself will be able to offer its own suggestions for reminders, based on your previous conversations, but only with your prior permission.
Currently, Tasks are available to Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers, but with a limit of 10 active tasks at a time.
To use the feature, you need to select “4o with scheduled tasks” in the ChatGPT model selection tool, and they can be managed either directly in chat threads or through the new “Tasks” section (available only online) in the profile menu.
After the settings are configured, notifications from ChatGPT will come through in all open applications — mobile, PC, or web version.
OpenAI has not announced whether the feature will be available to free users, but it is likely to remain premium. Currently, the company offers subscriptions priced at $20 and $200, although the latter has become a loss-maker for OpenAI due to its popularity only resulting in losses.
