After the traditional stream of teasers, OPPO has unveiled the flagships Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. These are smartphones with an outstanding camera and a photo button like the iPhone 16 Pro
New OPPO phones processor MediaTek Dimensity 9400Both devices support 80W of wired charging and 50W of wireless charging. The Find X8 series also supports OPPO Mag’s magnetic accessory ecosystem, albeit with an optional dedicated case. The OPPO Mag accessories include an ultra-slim power supply, an 80W 20,000mAh battery, and a 50W wireless charger with cooling fan.
OPPO also showed off several new features of the Color OS 15 software, like shadow and reflection removal. A simple upward gesture takes a blur-free photo instead of using the snap mode. The company did not miss the opportunity to compare this feature with background blurring of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Other important features of the camera include high-quality Live Photos, soft light portrait mode, and new styles.
Find X8 Pro has a 6.78″ OLED display with micro curves, 2780 x 1264 resolution, 120 Hz frequency and 4500 nits peak brightness. The phone is powered by a 5910 mAh battery.
OPPO Find X8 Pro has two periscope cameras: 50 MP with 3x (f/2.6) zoom and 50 MP 6x (f/4.3). The main camera is also 50 MP (f/1.6), and there is also a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens (120 degrees). For selfies and video calls, there’s a 32MP camera.
OPPO’s new iPhone 16 Pro-style camera shutter button. It also supports both pressing and swiping to zoom. Find X8 Pro is actually the first Android phone with such a multifunctional key.
The regular Find X8 is also equipped with Dimensity 9400, has a slightly smaller 6.59″ OLED display (2760 x 1256, 120 Hz, 4500 nits) and a 5630 mAh battery. It is thinner and lighter, at 7.85 mm and 193 g.
The OPPO Find X8 features a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens (120 degrees) and a 50MP 3x periscope camera (f/2.6). OPPO claims it’s the world’s first camera with a «inverted» periscope — this innovation helps to reduce the module size by 33%. The selfie camera is also 32 MP.
The OPPO Find X8 series was launched for China, but the company has confirmed that the «phones will soon be available in global markets. Oppo Find X8 will come in Starfield Black, Floating Light White, Chasing Wind Blue, and Bubble Pink colors. The price starts at $590 for the 12/256 GB version and $700 for the 16/512 GB version. The Find X8 Pro is available in Hoshino Black, Cloud White and Sky Blue and $745 for the 12/256GB and $955 for the 16GB and 1TB versions.
