The game has already doubled the record of the first Path of Exile with 230,000 online players. Meanwhile, Path of Exile 2 is in early access, which was delayed due to a surge of players.
At the time of writing this news, the peak game visits reached 539,149 gamers. In the rankings, Path of Exile 2 is at the 15th spot, climbing from 19th in just over a day. The game has surpassed the peaks of Valheim, Call of Duty, Helldivers 2, and Marvel Rivals. By the way, Path of Exile 2 caused crashes on SteamDB and its own website.
The hype around the game is happening despite factors that should have restrained its popularity. Yesterday, a large part of the players were in queues when the servers went live, and Grinding Gear Games finally allowed players to connect in batches. Moreover, this is not even a full launch.
The developers plan that Path of Exile 2 will eventually become free, but currently in Steam it costs 600₴. PC Gamer describes it as a blend of classic ARPG with more precision and complexity, akin to soul-likes.
