After the horror about Winnie the Pooh, it seems, nothing can scare (or amuse) the viewer anymore. But the movie Popeye The Slayer Man will break another wall in 2025.
The film tells about a group of friends who sneaked into an abandoned spinach canning factory to shoot a documentary film about the legend of the “Sailor”. Rumor has it, a mysterious creature wanders the factory and the docks.
The film features Sean Michael Conway, Elena Juliano, Mabel Thomas, Marie-Louise Bouazier, Jeff Thomas, Steven McCormack, as well as Angela Relucio and Sarah Nicklin. In the role of Popeye – Jason Stevens.
The director was Robert Michael Ryan, the script was written by John Dulan, with the participation of Jeff Miller, Kyle Carvin and the director himself. Popeye The Slayer Man is a joint production of Salem House Films, Millman Productions, Ron Lee Productions and Otsego Media.
“We can’t wait for viewers to see this bloody and scary version of Popeye. We went old school and focused on using real effects, not computer technology,” says producer Jeff Miller.
Interestingly, another horror film about Popeye will be released soon – the British Shiver Me Timbers. This is a horror comedy in which Popeye, Olive Oyl, her brother Castor and friends go on a hike to see a meteor shower with Halley’s comet. But the night turns into horror when the meteor turns Popeye into an unstoppable killing machine.
