On April 20, the Federal Election Commission (FEC) released the documents of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee. It turned out that US President Donald Trump collected $245 million in donations for his inaugural fund between November 15 and April 20. Cryptocurrency companies or their CEOs transferred a total of $18 million.
Ripple donated $4.8 million (the second-largest donation overall), the blockchain company Solana Labs transferred $1 million. As a reminder, memecoins TRUMP and MELANIA are launched on this particular blockchain network.
Real World Asset (RWA) tokenized platform Ondo Finance donated $1 million (Trump’s World Liberty Financial project invested in the company’s tokens), and blockchain software firm Consensys allocated $100 thousand.
The issuer of the stablecoin Circle has allocated $1 million. Hayden Adams, CEO of the decentralized crypto exchange Uniswap transferred $245 thousand to the fund. All these donations were made in January 2025.
In December 2024, the popular stock and cryptocurrency exchange Robinhood gave away $2 million, the leading crypto exchange in the US Coinbase has donated $1 million, Payward Inc. behind the crypto exchange Kraken injected $1 million, and Yuga Labs added another $100 thousand the same month.
To recap cryptocurrency companies spent more than $131 million to influence congressional elections and elect candidates who support digital assets.
Among the tech giants who also contributed a penny to Trump’s inaugural fund are: Anthropic, Meta, Amazon, Adobe, CEO Apple Tim Cook and CEO OpenAI Sam Altman, among others, donated $1 million each.
