Judging by the post on the official X game channel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has sold at least 6 million copies.

The developers jokingly presented this huge figure as a crowded area where stalkers sing songs to guitar chords, and «ringing laughter filled the entire territory from the bar in the Forest to the Tericon and beyond»:

«Today we are celebrating the 6 millionth stalker who has come to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Six million! A figure that is hard to comprehend, but it became a reality thanks to you. We are incredibly grateful and proud that each of you has left your own special mark on the» Zone.

GSC Game World about the first million copies of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 announced on the second day after the release of the game, November 22, 2024. Unofficially 1.4 million copies were reported already on November 27, but since then, the developers have not given exact figures.

In December, the studio’s owner Maxim Krippa avoided disclosing the number of sales and specific figures, but said that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl cost «tens of millions of dollars» and had already paid off by that time. The entrepreneur announced GSC’s intentions for at least two add-ons and a series on Netflix.
