On Steam, the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl said that fix the next patch. They also shared plans for future patches.

«The game has been out for a few days now (it’s still unusual to say this), and we’ve been closely following your feedback on all possible platforms. More than a million stalkers are already in the Zone, and we thank you for playing — this is an invaluable, important moment for us. We are sure you have things to do in the Zone, but we do too».

Departures

  • Fixes memory allocation, which could lead to game crashes, particularly during rendering and quest scenes.

Main quest

  • Fixes for main quest blocking, characters getting stuck in objects, false markers, and cutscene issues.
  • Changes to the mainline quests to ensure smooth transitions and avoid cases of blocked passage.

Gameplay and balance

  • Fixing the lack of impact of upgrades on the price of weapons or armor. The cost of items will change correctly.
  • Fixing NPC behavior in the absence of cover during ejection.

Cutscenes and effects

  • Missing facial animations, incorrect NPC placement, and visual defects — separation of heads and clothes.
  • Improved quality and stability of visual effects.

Softlocks

  • Players could not close the trading menu after inserting ammunition into the wrong slot while playing on the gamepad.

Interface

  • Quest notifications will be displayed correctly during dialogs.
  • Corrected texts and missing interaction prompts.

In future updates, the developers plan to fix A-Life, which caused a lot of complaints from players — contrary to expectations, the system was not very intelligent. Fixing Xbox controller dead zones will also have to wait, but GSC Game World is already working on it. The first patch of the game will be released this week on PC and Xbox.
