The community of gamers has developed four modifications to eliminate freezes in «S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl» during the first day after the official release on November 20.
Players positively evaluate S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, praising the atmosphere and gameplay, but pointing out numerous technical issues and unstable performance. «We understand that there are still some rough edges in a game this big — we’ve really never released anything of this magnitude», — noted in GSC Game World. The studio has promised to release hotfixes quickly in the first days after the release, and then move on to larger updates. While developers are preparing updates, enthusiasts have already created their own solutions to optimize the game.
The most popular on the Nexus Mods platform are Stalker Optimizer from the user FrancisLouis. The modification optimizes shader compilation and resource streaming, which significantly reduces the number of freezes during the game. The mod was downloaded over 7500 times in the first 24 hours.
The second most popular mod is the development of Optimized Tweaks S.2 by VynnGfx with 5200 downloads. The mod improves frame rate, reduces latency, and optimizes game performance.
The list of technical modifications also includes STK2 – SPF by Xowny and Ultimate Engine Tweaks from P40lox, which offer alternative methods of optimizing the game engine.
Enthusiasts have also created utilities to activate the developer’s console and remove restrictions on the transfer of equipment. Among the visual modifications, there are rescales that change the color scheme of the game.
