GSC Game World studio released patch 1.1 for the game «S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl». The update includes more than 1800 fixes and improvements to various aspects of the game.

One of the main focuses of the patch is the first iteration of improvements to the A-Life system, which is responsible for the autonomous behavior of NPCs in the game. Now stalkers will be encountered more often while exploring the Zone, their visibility has been increased, and numerous navigation issues have been fixed. A-Life characters will expand their territory more actively, attack enemies, and communicate with each other. Fixed a bug that caused characters «to spawn» behind the player.

The artificial intelligence of enemies and mutants has also received a number of improvements. Dozens of «anomalies» behavior have been fixed, such as mutants hiding behind inappropriate cover, NPC teleportation, animation failures, and more. Balance changes have also been made, including reducing the abilities of some mutants and increasing rewards for missions.

Significant improvements have been made to the game’s performance and stability. Work in densely populated areas has been optimized, the drop in fps during certain actions has been eliminated, and hundreds of crashes and crashes on different configurations have been fixed. The developers have also improved controller support.

In cutscenes, the patch fixed more than 80 bugs, including the lack of subtitles, incorrect character behavior, camera and sound issues. Facial animation and voice acting have been improved.

Most of the changes are related to main and side quests — more than 350 bugs that prevented the passage have been fixed. Fixed progress blocking, NPC disappearance, illogical enemy behavior, and many other issues.

The game world has also undergone considerable changes: numerous locations have been finalized, the environment and weather effects have been improved, and stuck objects and NPCs have been fixed. More than 30 changes were made to the mechanics of equipment and statuses.

More information about all updates can be found in patchwork.

The patch is quite large (110 GB), so the developers apologize for the potentially long download. They also promise to work on optimizing the size of GSC updates.
