Series «Dexter: Resurrection» — first look at the villains Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage

The series «Dexter: Resurrection» has received its first footage — and among the new faces are Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage.

Both will play the main antagonists of the new part of the franchise. Thurman will appear as the head of the security service, and Dinklage will play the role of a venture capitalist. There are no more details about them yet, but these two actors are quite a serious batch.

Also in the photo you can see Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan. His character is now in New York City — walking in the dark, standing in a subway station, and most likely preparing for new hunts. One of the shots directly hints that the familiar ritual with the plastic table is back. Who will be the victim this time is kept secret.

Among the familiar faces is Jack Olcott, who once again plays Harrison, Dexter’s son. In the finale «New blood» he tried to shoot his father, so their meeting in «Resurrection» could be interesting. But so far, the images do not show them together. Harrison is working at the «Empire» hotel, and he may even have a new love. David Zayas also returns as detective Angel Batista. In the new season, he pursues Dexter after the events of the previous episode.

The stills from the series are the first hint of the general tone of the sequel. Dark scenes and disturbing expressions – all this evokes a familiar atmosphere that viewers will recognize from the previous installments. But now the events take place in the city, not in the dense forests or sunny Miami.

In an interview, Clyde Phillips, the showrunner, confirmed that «Resurrection» — is not a one-time experiment. According to him, they have the strongest franchise in the history of Showtime, so they have no plans to stop.

«Dexter: Resurrection» will be released in 2025 on Paramount+ with Showtime. The trailer is likely to be released soon. Meanwhile prequel «Trinity Killer» received a script.
