After a series of short teasers Netflix has offered an extended look at the second season of the «Squid Game» series.
In the two-minute video, we are once again shown the winner of the previous competition, Song Gi-hoon (Lee Jong-che) — but this time surrounded by new players who, like him, are eager to win at any cost. When the protagonist tries to explain the real consequences to the other participants, he is silenced, demanding that the organizers «one more game».
In addition to the familiar locations and games, we are shown the game’s frontman (Lee Byung-hong) and his policeman brother (Woo Ha-joon), who, as it turns out, survived a seemingly fatal shot and, like Song, is trying to expose the organizers of the competition. Also, in the second season, a recruiter of new players (Kon Yu) reappears.
«Three years after winning the «Squid Game», player 456 has abandoned his trip to the states and returned with a new idea. Gi-hoon plunges back into the mysterious survival competition, starting another life-or-death game with new participants who are determined to win the 45.6 billion won prize», — the official synopsis says
The second season of «The Squid Game» will debut on Netflix on December 26.
Earlier, the show’s writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk said that «Squid Game» will end with the third season, which will be released in 2025.
The first season of «The Squid Game» became the most popular TV show in Netflix’s history — it received 14 Emmy nominations with 6 wins, including directing for Hwang and acting for Lee Jong-che and Lee Yoo-mi.
