Sigh: NVIDIA RTX 5090 will have only one 16-pin connector

Segotep, a small Chinese power supply manufacturer, confirmed in a conversation that the NVIDIA RTX 5090 will not have the rumored two 16-pin connectors.

The brand has little presence on the market, but actively communicates with customers on Chinese social media. Users can read reviews of current products and ask questions. At Bilibili, a Segotep representative was asked if there was anything to worry about with RTX 5090s that allegedly have dual 16-pin power connectors.

Not that this information had any validity, but people started to worry. ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 PSUs are still quite rare, let alone having two 12V-2×6 connectors. It turns out that manufacturers already have the specifications of future NVIDIA graphics cards, and the company representative reassured the user:

«User : A 1300 W power supply is sold for 1600. Is it not possible to have two 16-pin connectors? What if I need two 16-pin connectors for the 5090?

Segotep: Don’t worry, we have already received the data on the 5090. There is no such possibility, see you in January».

As you can see, the manufacturer also talks about a meeting in January — that is, the cards will be available then. This confirms the rumors about the NVIDIA RTX 5090 presentation at CES 2025 on January 7-10 in Las Vegas.
