Postal 2
Postal 2 — joins the VR scene, offering players a virtual reality experience of chaotic Paradise.
22 years after its release, Running with Scissors announced Postal 2 VR, which it worked on together with Beef Studios and Flat2VR Studios. At the time, Postal 2 was one of the most scandalous games. It was banned in many countries due to excessive violence and satire on modern society. Despite the problems, the game gained the status of a cult classic.
Now VR will face even more chaos, scandals, and emotions. For those who don’t know anything about this game, we’ll give you a hint — you can set fire to buildings, use a chainsaw, or pick up a cat as a gun silencer. At first glance, absolutely banal tasks, such as buying milk or getting an autograph, turn into chaos. For example, a library has entire shelves of books on how to make a bomb and terrorist manuals, and then an attack occurs («never» you can’t guess who). Or a seemingly ordinary mission to collect signatures is transformed by the atmosphere into the phrase: «Sign this fucking petition».
The developers promise a completely reimagined gameplay for VR. Therefore, here is how the VR version will be different:
The creators say that players will have to navigate the chaos and interact with NPCs like never before. Therefore, the VR version has all the chances to become one of the most provocative VR games.
«This is POSTAL 2 like you’ve never experienced before—fully unhinged, wildly immersive, and ready to let you loose in the most chaotic VR playground imaginable» — says Flat2VR.
The game already has a page on Steam and you can add it to your wishlist. However, there is no official release date yet. Judging by the willingness of the developers to show the gameplay, we won’t have to wait long. The game will be released on PlayStation VR2, Steam VR and Meta Quest.
However, the developers of the cult absurd shooter did not always create projects that players liked Postal 4: No Regrets didn’t win the hearts of gamers, but on the contrary — it became the worst game 2022, according to Metacritic.
