It looks like Tom Holland has found a new partner for «Spider-Man 4» — and it’s «Stranger Things» star Sadie Sink, according to Deadline.
Details about Sink’s role have not yet been revealed, but the main theory is that she will play Jean Grey, an X-Men character who has been portrayed by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner in the past. It should be reminded that Holland’s previous girlfriend Zendaya as MJ, according to previous statements, will not get much screen time due to her employment in the third «Dune».
Sink, 22, is best known for her role as Max in the hit Netflix sci-fi series «Stranger Things», whose final season is expected this year. She also appeared in Taylor Swift’s music video for the song «All Too Well: The Short Film», and will also play in the musical Searchlight «O’Dessa».
Details of the plot of the fourth part of «Spider-Man» have not been disclosed. In the previous 2021 film, Peter Parker accidentally opened the multiverse and allowed two previous spiders, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, to appear in the same reality, causing many problems. In the end, Holland’s character made a difficult decision to erase himself from the world and make MJ and his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) forget about his existence. The film, which debuted under the title «Spider-Man: No Way Out» grossed an incredible $1.9 billion at the box office, so a lot of people are waiting for the fourth film.
John Watts, who directed the previous three installments, will be replaced in the director’s chair by Destin Daniel Cretton («Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings»). Amy Pascal and Marvel President Kevin Feige are producing, with Eric Sommers and Chris McKenna writing the screenplay.
The movie release date «Spider-Man 4» is currently postponed to July 31, 2026 — in order not to encounter premiere «Odyssey» Christopher Nolan.
