Steel Hunters: a new Mech shooter from Wargaming, created by a team from Kyiv

Wargaming has announced its new original franchise Steel Hunters — a free-to-play mech hero shooter that combines the mechanics of Battle Royale and Extraction modes.

Steel Hunters is set in a futuristic world dominated by powerful mechs and humanity fighting for survival after a catastrophe. To protect a rare extraterrestrial resource called Starfall, giant mechanical Hunters were created.

The player will have to control the Hunters and participate in action-packed battles. During the battles, you have to complete different types of objectives, level up and get equipment. Each Hunter has its own style of play, unique sets of abilities, and progression systems that allow you to use a variety of strategies and tactics. All this is needed to defeat your opponents as you progress to the final confrontation at the Extraction Point.

Key features of Steel Hunters:

• A new take on Battle Royale and Extraction – The game combines the mechanics of Hero shooters, Battle Royale, and Extraction. Players engage in battles with a unique Hunter in a PvPvE arena, pursuing various goals to level up and acquire equipment. This culminates in a final battle at the Extraction Point.
• Master the great mechanical giants – Players will learn and master different Hunters, and will be able to use their ability sets and progression systems in the most effective way.
• Tactics over reflexes – Unlike more traditional shooters, it’s not just about having a quick reaction time, but also about understanding your strengths, weaknesses, abilities, recovery time, and synergies. Maps allow you to make meaningful tactical choices and offer opportunities to outflank the enemy or ambush them.
• Duo Symbiosis – Cooperation is crucial to achieving victory. Whether you’re playing with a friend or another Hunter, combining tactics and abilities with your duo partner is what will make the difference in the Hunting Grounds.
• Gameplay – Built on the Unreal Engine 5 engine, the game creates a realistic depiction of game worlds. The perception is enhanced by the destructible environment on the map, which also allows for more tactical gameplay.
• High level of customization – Players can customize their Hunters with different build options, allowing them to create unique combinations of equipment. In addition, collectibles and cosmetic items allow players to express their own style and personality.

It is noted that a team of Wargaming Kyiv artists is actively working on the Steel Hunters game. They created concepts and developed the appearance of the Hunters.
