In the latest study by Reviews.org, it is shown how people used smartphones in 2024, based on a survey conducted in the USA.
According to the report, in 2024, Americans checked their phones on average 205 times a day — effectively once every 5 minutes excluding sleep time.
Approximately 80.6% of Americans check their phones within the first 10 minutes of waking up, and about half of the respondents keep it at hand during the night. 78% of respondents cannot leave home without their phone, and 76% respond to notifications within the first five minutes.
Nearly 40% of people panic when their battery level falls below 20%, and another 27% use their phone while driving.
On average in 2024, Americans spent 4 hours and 30 minutes per day on their smartphone, yet only 43.2% of respondents admitted to feeling addicted to mobile devices. Zoomers
Meanwhile, the usage of smartphones during meals and work hours has significantly decreased, but all this seems to have shifted to the use of mobile devices during movie watching — 88.8% admitted that they check their smartphones in movie theaters.
The percentage of people upgrading their phones has decreased by 35.5% compared to last year, and currently, fewer users feel the need to spend money on the latest model.
