Netflix has released the first teaser for the second season of «Wednesday».
Despite the extremely short duration of the video, we get a better look at the key characters: Wednesday Adams herself, played by Jenna Ortega, and Tyler Galpin (aka Monster-Head), played by Hunter Doane. Judging by the teaser, the guy is kept chained to the wall in the Willow Hill psychiatric hospital.
Unfortunately, the exact release date was not provided — just a brief note «later this year» (the first season, we recall, was released in November 2022)
«Wednesday» — is a dark fantasy series directed by Tim Burton. The plot follows the eponymous girl from the Adams family at Nevermore (an academy for outcasts) and her attempts to master her superpowers. In the first season, the protagonist faced three enemies at once, and at least one of them, judging by the teaser, will return in the sequel.
The plot of the second season has not yet been revealed, but it is known that some old characters will definitely return to their roles including the Wednesday parents (Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman), Emma Myers (Enid), Joy Sunday (Bianca), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley) and others. Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier, is not on the list — the actor was accused of violence and Netflix dropped him from the series (it’s hard to imagine how his absence will be played, as he was supposed to be the main love interest of Wednesday).
Among the «newcomers are Christopher Lloyd, Joanne Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Hayley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Jonas Suotamo. Also, sources Variety reported that the sequel might feature a cameo by Lady Gaga, whose song helped the Wednesday tank go viral on social media.
