Teaser trailer for the movie «F1» — a new look at Brad Pitt in the sports drama directed by «Top Gun: Maverick»

A new teaser for Joseph Kosinski’s sports drama starring Brad Pitt as an experienced «F1» Sonny Hayes pilot has been released.

According to the official synopsis, Hayes said goodbye to racing in the 1990s when he had a terrible accident, but is forced to return to the track at the request of the owner of the Expensify Apex Grand Prix team (Javier Bardem) and become a mentor to the rookie prodigy Joshua Pierce (Damson Idris).

It is known that some scenes of the movie will feature real Formula 1 drivers — including Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc, and others. Hamilton, a seven-time Formula 1 world champion and current driver for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, also produced the film.

«I look to my left — Brad Pitt is there. I look to my right — Javier Bardem. I look at my hands — they are shaking», — recalled Idris on his first day of filming. «We’re shooting epic stuff and these amazing drivers are there too, from Lewis to Verstappen and everyone in between».

«F1» is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his CGI and CGI films («Tron: Legacy», «The World of Oblivion», «Fire Fighters»), and written by Ehren Kruger — the duo worked together on the hit «Top Gun: Maverick».

Apple spent approximately $130-140 million on the movie «F1» in 2022 (an amount that did not include the salaries of Pitt, Kosinski and the team). The film will initially debut in theaters on June 25, and will later be streamed on Apple TV+.

Pitt actually already has experience with streaming — and it can hardly be called successful. The movie «Lone wolves»in which the actor teamed up with his longtime partner Clooneywas originally supposed to be released in theaters in September 2024, but Apple suddenly changed its mind and agreed to a limited release, with further streaming on its own service. In the end, director Johnn Watts refused to continue the movie and returned the money to the company. What’s interesting here is that «Lone Wolves» has become the most popular movie ever released on Apple TV+, and would probably have brought in good money for the team in a full-scale release.
