Tesla has started distributing a simplified version of Full Self-Driving (FSD) v13 to some external customers. The company is doing this in order to avoid a two-month delay in the schedule, although many of the promised features have not yet been implemented in this update.
In recent months, Tesla has started publishing monthly «updates to the AI roadmap» so that owners can monitor progress toward the goal of introducing unsupervised autopilot by the end of the second quarter of 2025.
The expected FSD v13 was supposed to be the main update in October. However, due to the low level of readiness, the update was moved to the November roadmap. However, even at the end of November, it was not possible to realize all the declared capabilities.
A few hours before the end of November, Tesla released a simplified version of v13 and v13.2 for early access customers in the United States.
Many of the features in the «future improvements» category, including a threefold increase in model size and context length, were mentioned in plans for FSD v13, which was to be released in November.
However, the most significant feature that affects the increase in the number of miles between driver interventions is already included – the ability to leave, reverse and park.
