The American automaker has been informed that Tesla will not be able to participate in this year’s auto show due to the risk of protests against the company and its CEO Elon Musk. The company refused to withdraw from the event voluntarily, despite repeated offers to do so.
In Canada, Tesla is facing growing opposition: activists are organizing Tesla Takedown actions, urging owners to sell their cars and investors to get rid of the company’s shares. In addition, the state-owned energy company B.C. Hydro has removed Tesla from the list of brands eligible for government subsidies for electric vehicles to support local manufacturers.
Tensions between Canada and the United States are growing, and Musk has become a symbol of the American policy of imposing tariffs on neighboring countries. Because of this, Tesla is facing vandalism around the world. For example, a fire recently broke out in a car dealership in France, resulting in a dozen electric cars burned down.
