Forbes Ukraine analyzed what Ukrainians bought on “Black Friday” and how much sales increased in the biggest Ukrainian chainsRozetka, Comfy, «Алло», «Фокстрот», «Епіцентр», «JYSK Україна» and market by monobank. compared to last year.

- Ukrainians spent more on discount shopping than last year. For instance, the turnover of “JYSK Ukraine” stores on Black Friday increased by 109% compared to the same period last year, and on Rozetka sales in top categories tripled.
- The average check of Ukrainians started from 5000 UAH, according to the Алло network. Meanwhile, “Фокстрот” reports about 9000 UAH, and monobank — about 14,300 UAH (but it seems that this is exclusively about purchasing products with the installment payment feature). Rozetka reported a 40% increase in the average check, however, exact amounts were not provided.
- Top sales were smartphones and TVs, however, charging stations are gaining popularity. For example, this category showed the highest growth in demand in the Алло network (more than 5 times compared to November), the same growth figures are reported by Comfy, but calculated year over year. Meanwhile, Фокстрот reports a growth of 9 times compared to the three weeks preceding the sales period.
- Demand for products from Ukrainian manufacturers increased: in Rozetka by 15% compared to the week before Black Friday, with chocolate candies and the New Year’s tea collection leading the way.
Remember, a survey by Viber, conducted before Black Friday, showed that 64% of citizens do not believe in discounts during this period, but a third plan to buy clothes and only 12% — gadgets.
