The average salary in Ukraine «increased» to ₴21,946. The largest increase is in IT (+37,7%), while the education sector lags behind

According to State Statistics Service, the average salary of full-time employees in Ukraine in the third quarter of 2024 increased by 22.3% to ₴21,946.

In hryvnias — it’s up by 56.6% compared to the pre-war year 2021 (₴14,014), while in dollars the increase is a modest $18 — $532 in the third quarter of 2024 and $514 in 2021.

The highest increase in average salary was recorded in the “Information and Telecommunications” sector (+37.7% to ₴50,752 compared to the same period last year), aviation transport workers (+35.7% to ₴40,443), and in the finance and insurance sector (+20.5% to ₴40,194).

On the other hand, the lowest increase was observed in the education sector (+15.6% to ₴13,970).

Important: The State Statistics Service reports salary levels without considering taxes, so the actual “net” salary received will be lower.

Reminder: In December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a historic law on tax increases in Ukraine, which, among other things, includes an increase in the military levy to 5% for individuals, 1% of turnover for third group sole proprietors, and 10% of the minimum wage for first, second, and fourth group sole proprietors.
