Compact flagship smartphones are not that common. However, they seem to remain popular. We are not talking about very small devices, but those that are slightly smaller than the standard size. For example, the iPhone 16 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro, Xiaomi 15, vivo X200 Pro mini — all have screens of about 6.3 inches. New rumors from China suggest that OnePlus is also planning to join this trend and release its own compact flagship smartphone.
According to knowledgeable sources, OnePlus is developing a device with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6.3-inch 1.5K screen, and a primary camera that uses a 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor.
The smartphone will not have a periscopic camera for zooming, and the design of the camera unit will be horizontal and somewhat reminiscent of the Google Pixel style. The current prototype has an optical fingerprint sensor under the screen, but OnePlus is considering using an ultrasonic version.
This compact flagship device is rumored to be part of the Ace 5 series, possibly under the name Ace 5 mini or Ace 5 Pro mini.
