Every year, TIME magazine publishes its own top inventions that change the world — and this time in the list of the two hundred best noted and our «Diia».
The Ukrainian digital services application is presented in the category «Applications and software» — as the invention that was the first in the world to offer a fully digital marriage process
In the accompanying article to the top, they wrote: «Since September, Ukrainian citizens have been able to get married in a very unusual way: through the nationwide app «Diia». The system is simple, albeit unromantic: one partner makes a proposal through the app, and the other receives a notification. If the other party responds «yes» within 14 days, they can get married during a video call with an officiant on the Webex platform».
«This may sound like a harsh way to declare your love, but it was designed to help the many Ukrainian couples who were physically separated due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine».
As of October 2024, 600+ couples have gotten married through «Diia», while a total of 6700+ couples have applied for marriage, and another 1.3 million Ukrainians have proposed to each other in «number».

It is interesting that the recognition of the «Diia» has arrived just in time for the holidays: today the service reported on 21 million registered users.
