The market for electric vehicle charging stations in Ukraine is actively developing and showing growth. Amid growing demand for electric vehicles, the country is demanding more and more of these devices, and manufacturers are not sitting idle.
The electric car boom began in Ukraine around 2016. However, at that time, the charging infrastructure was underdeveloped. Various companies became interested in this area, and as of this year, there are already 10 charging manufacturers in the country.
As of 2024, about 120 thousand electric vehicles have already been registered in Ukraine. Their number is growing by about 4-5 thousand units every month.
At the same time, there are currently about 17 thousand installed chargers (connectors) in Ukraine, and amid growing demand for electric vehicles, the need for charging infrastructure is also constantly growing. Octa Energy sells more than a thousand AC chargers every year, both home and commercial. Meanwhile, Ecofactor produces an average of 364 charging stations per year.
Currently, the average price of AC charging stations in Ukraine is $500-2100. DC charging stations will cost much more. Depending on the capacity, their price can range from $15,000 to $20,000. Some models can cost even more. At Ecofactor, the prices for DC stations of 60-240 kW are $17300-46500, and at UGV – $20000-68800. The price is influenced by the components: European ones are more expensive, and Ecofactor uses charging modules assembled in Ukraine on its own.
Currently, Ukrainian charging station manufacturers also sell their products to other countries, including the EU.
