After 10 years of waiting, the adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s dark fantasy “In The Lost Lands” is finally ready to hit the big screen — and the first trailer is now available for viewing.
At the heart of the story “In The Lost Lands” is a queen who desperately tries to find her happiness in love and sends the powerful witch Gray Alys (Milla Jovovich) into the dangerous Lost Lands in search of magical power, with the guide Boyce (Dave Bautista) helping her.
The film is directed by Jovovich’s husband and “Resident Evil” director Paul Anderson, while the screenplay for the film adaptation was adapted by Martin himself and Constantin Werner. The rest of the cast includes Arli Hover, Amara Okereke, Frazer James, Simon Lef, and Deirdre Mullins.
The trailer notes that the film will debut in theaters “this winter,” although George Martin in a blog post announced screenings for March 7.
The film “In The Lost Lands” was announced back in 2015, but the idea was seriously revisited only in 2021 — meanwhile, Milla Jovovich was attached to the project all this time.
The trailer gave us the opportunity to take a closer look at the characters of Jovovich and Bautista, and also showcased a series of landscapes with ruins and several battles. At times, the video resembled AI creations, but this is likely because the film was predominantly shot in front of green screens.
