Paramount+ has released a trailer for the prequel to the cult series about serial killer Dexter.
«In the beginning there was blood», — these are the words that start the trailer. The ten-episode project will tell the story of the formation of a killer forensic expert. The story takes place in Miami in 1991, where the protagonist tries to curb his bloody instincts under the guidance of his father Harry, played by Christian Slater.
The plot of the series reveals the process of creating the legendary «Code» – a set of rules by which Dexter chooses his victims among criminals, avoiding detection by law enforcement agencies. The character’s inner monologue is voiced by Michael Hall, as before.
Young Dexter Morgan will be played by Patrick Gibson. Molly Brown, Christina Milian and Patrick Dempsey also joined the cast. Sarah Michelle Gellar («Buffy — The Vampire Slayer») will be a special guest of the project.
The series is executive produced by Clyde Phillips and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. The executive producers also include Scott Reynolds, Hall, Mary Lee Sutton, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns. The series is produced by Robert Lloyd Lewis («Lincoln’s Lawyer»). Michael Lehmann («Death Train») is executive producing.
The series will premiere on December 13 on Paramount+.
