Today, the creators of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 introduced a “small” (7.4 GB) patch 1.1.3 for the game, which provides a temporary solution to the issue where shader compilation would halt, leading to a crash and the need to restart the game. The author of this news had a “hellish ordeal” with shader compilation over the weekend because he plays through NVIDIA GeForce NOW. The error led to a long, futile wait and a crash that required re-entering the game. As a result, it was practically impossible to get into it for two hours. Maybe it’s not such a problem on desktops. So, thanks to GSC for their timely fix.
