Трініті і Декстер / серіал «Декстер»
The antagonist of the fourth season of “Dexter,” the serial killer Trinity, played by John Lithgow, will get his own prequel. The maniac played a dramatic role in Dexter’s life.
The series “Trinity Killer” will explore the origins of another serial killer who clashed with Dexter in the fourth season and caused him immense suffering, and is currently in active development at Paramount+ and Showtime. “Dexter” showrunner Clyde Phillips and his colleague Scott Reynolds are co-creators and executive producers of the prequel. Phillips shared information about two Dexter-related series.
“We’ve written all the episodes of ‘Trinity Killer.’ At this point, it’s on the back burner. John Lithgow agreed to be the voice of his younger ‘self,’ just like Michael C. Hall does [in ‘Dexter: Original Sin’]. We’re also doing another show with Michael C. Hall [‘Dexter: Resurrection’]… We wrote this during the shooting of Original Sin, so we were very busy. We start filming [‘Dexter: Resurrection’] in January, it airs in June 2025.”
“Dexter: Resurrection” was effectively announced in “Original Sin,” which premiered December 13. It will be a continuation of the successful series “Dexter: New Blood”.
In the series “Dexter,” based on books by Jeff Lindsay, the character Arthur Mitchell, known as Trinity, was introduced. He became the most sinister killer Dexter ever dispatched. He killed Dexter’s wife, Rita (Julie Benz) and drastically changed Dexter’s life.
Some background on Arthur was revealed in the main series. As a child, he accidentally caused the death of his sister Vera. The incident, which Arthur’s parents blamed him for, devastated the family. His mother committed suicide a couple of years later, and his father became an alcoholic and brutally beat Arthur. All this shaped Trinity as a serial killer—he mimicked the incident with his sister on his bloody path.
