In November 2024, cars with traditional internal combustion engines accounted for more than 64% of the new passenger car market. For comparison, in November of the previous year, this figure was 66%. Thus, Ukrainians are very slowly switching to new electric powertrains.
The most popular models are still those with gasoline engines. They account for 35.5% of new car sales. Compared to the previous year, there is a significant decrease in this figure. In November 2023, cars with gasoline internal combustion engines accounted for 45.2% of new models.
The second largest segment was diesel cars – 28.9%. In contrast, this segment is growing – last year they accounted for 20.5% of the new car market.
The share of hybrid cars increased from 18.5% to 22.5%. At the same time, the share of electric vehicles has decreased from 15.4% to 12.8%. As in the previous year, cars with LPG accounted for less than one percent of new car sales.
