Netflix назвав актуальні показники переглядів серіалу «Гра в кальмара» і вони вражають.
The first season of “Squid Game” attracted 330 million viewers and amassed over 2.8 billion hours of viewing — an absolute record for Netflix.
According to Variety, a 60% increase in views was recorded after the teaser of the second season was released on October 31 — Netflix is promoting the sequel as one of the most anticipated projects of the year.
Let us remind you that the second season of the “Squid Game” series will debut on streaming on December 26 and will focus on the winner of the previous contests, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who will return to the deadly arena to save new participants and seek revenge on the game organizers.
Besides Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun (the game’s frontman), Wi Ha-joon (the policeman), and Gong Yoo (the new players’ recruiter) will reprise their roles. The rest of the characters will be new, which is entirely expected given the tragic plot of the first season.
In addition to a new cast of players, viewers will be shown several new games — with new rules that will allow participants to vote to end the competition after each event and leave with the amount they have accumulated by then (if the majority votes for it).
Earlier, the director of “Squid Game,” Hwang Dong-hyuk, revealed that he lost “8-9 teeth” due to the stress from filming and agreed to a second season “only for the money.” Meanwhile, the third season will be — and it will be the final chapter of the story (for which they have already “finished editing episodes”).
