The «Stranger Things» series helped to hide the «most valuable» cameos in «Deadpool and Wolverine»

Marvel has a whole list of tactics and schemes that could hide spoilers in movies, but using pseudonyms from “Stranger Things” for “Deadpool and Wolverine” is something new.

As known, “Deadpool and Wolverine” pleased viewers with a significant number of cameos from star characters and actors, however, to prevent the information about the invited guests from appearing online prematurely, some names were hidden in the script using pseudonyms from the series “Stranger Things”.

Thus, the character of Henry Cavill was hidden under the name Hopper, Elektra was referred to as Eleven, Blade became Billy, and Johnny Storm as Jonathan Byers.

The director of “Deadpool and Wolverine,” Shawn Levy, who was involved in “Stranger Things” as a director and executive producer, confirmed the aforementioned tactic on Twitter.

“It’s true. For a brief moment, my worlds collided”.

Ryan Reynolds himself in a comment to Levy’s post noted that he was extremely concerned about leaks at the time of filming:

“I was damn scared that people would see Wesley Snipes, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Garner, and Dafne Keen. Really, it kept me up at night. We managed to block the area, and we had a plan in case someone saw a drone at the filming location”.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” is the 34th film in the MCU, released as part of Phase 5 of the cinematic universe. According to the plot, Wade Wilson and Logan Hugh Jackman confront Cassandra, the evil twin sister of Professor X (the film also features a bunch of interesting cameos). Throughout its run, “Deadpool and Wolverine” earned a total of $1.3 billion (second in earnings in 2024 and the highest-grossing R-rated film) and is currently streaming digitally—in Ukraine, the film can officially be watched on Megogo and Kyivstar TV, in particular.

Meanwhile, the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” is currently under production. Earlier, the creators of the series stated that they will try “not to repeat the mistake of ‘Game of Thrones’ in the finale” and revealed the release date in a short teaser.
