The first trailer for the film adaptation of «How to Train Your Dragon» has been released online ahead of schedule. The premiere of the new film is scheduled for June 13, 2025.
In the story, which is based on the original 2010 book and animated film, a young Viking named Hiccup meets a rare dragon named Toothless. Instead of following the traditions of his village and killing the dragon, Hiccup forms a strong friendship with him that will change the lives of not only the two of them, but the entire village of Burke.
The film also stars Nico Parker («The Last of Us») as Astrid and Gerard Butler, who will return to the role of Stoic — Hiccup’s father, whom he voiced in the animated film. The film is directed by Dean DeBlois, who created the original animated trilogy. According to him, the film remains faithful to the original material, but adds new plot twists.
As a reminder, the original animated trilogy has grossed over $1.6 billion at the global box office and was nominated for an Oscar «Oscar» for Best Animated Feature.
