The Game Awards 2024, one of the most prominent events in the gaming industry, took place last night in Los Angeles. However, the main reason why the audience stayed up until the morning was not the award ceremony, but the numerous announcements of future projects that will shape the gaming industry in the coming years.
CD Project RED has recently announced active development of a new part «Witcher». Now they have shown the first trailer of the game, which is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. The main character will be Ciri (although her face looks a bit different). The game will launch a new trilogy and will be called simply The Witcher 4. Ninja Gaiden returns as a classic 2D action game with 16-bit stylized graphics. It is being created by Blasphemous developers together with Streets of Rage 4 publisher. The game will feature pixelated 2D graphics and dynamic battles. It will be released in the summer of 2025 and promises to be very challenging.
Naughty Dog Studio showed her new game. It’s something completely new from game director Neil Druckmann — a space bounty hunter with a laser sword fighting against big monsters. The game is set to release on PS5, with a release date yet to be announced.

FromSoftware has announced Elden Ring Nightreign — a standalone three-player cooperative action game set in a parallel world. Players will be able to choose from ready-made characters, and the gameplay is divided into two modes: survival during the day and boss battles at night. The development is not led by Hidetaka Miyazaki, but the appearance of the Nameless King from Dark Souls 3 in the trailer raises many questions. We will find out the answers in 2025.
A new game from the creators of It Takes Two. Hazelight Studio and Yusef Fares have presented a new cooperative adventure where two writers will have to travel through worlds based on their books. Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Rebirth is finally coming to PC — on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The release will take place on January 23, 2025.
