There are two pieces of news, good and bad, and everyone is free to take one or the other as such, depending on their attitude towards the series «The Witcher». One is that the show has been renewed for a fifth season, and the other is that it will be the last. The fourth season of «The Witcher» has also started filming in the UK.
Netflix has released a short video of the script reading for season 4, featuring Liam Hemsworth as Geralt and other cast members. Laurence Fishburne makes his debut in the series as Regis.
«The Witcher» was renewed for a fourth season in October 2022, but Netflix has just now given «the green light for»’s fifth season. Both will be filmed back-to-back. To complete the television adaptation, the remaining books by Andrzej Sapkowski: «Baptism of Fire», «Swallow Tower» and «Lady of the Lake».

The producers of «The Witcher» Steve Gaub and Tomek Baginski previously announced an event related to «Meta Ideas» to explain the change of the main character in the story:
«We have a very, very good plan to introduce our new Geralt and our new vision of Geralt with Liam. Without going into those ideas, because that would be a huge spoiler, it’s also very, very close to meta-ideas that are deeply rooted in the books, especially book five,» Baginski said in June last year.
