The editor of the series «Stranger Things» says that one of the main tasks for the creators in the fifth and last season was «not to repeat the mistakes of Game of Thrones».
The next season of the hit sci-fi series will debut on Netflix in 2025 and will conclude the story of a group of teenagers’ struggle with Wesenna (Jamie Campbell Bauer). In a new interview, Stranger Things editor Dean Zimmerman (who received a Technical «Emmy» for his work on the series) shared details on what viewers can expect from the sequel and what tasks the show’s creators have set themselves.
Zimmerman announced (via Screen Runt) is bigger than in previous seasons and promised a «pleasant ending for viewers» noting that showrunners the Duffer brothers tried «not to repeat the mistake of Game of Thrones».
«This season is bigger than anyone could have imagined. All the Duffer brothers’ efforts are aimed at bringing the story to a proper conclusion in the last season — something that many people say Game of Thrones did not do (although this is a controversial fact)».
He also assured that viewers» would not be disappointed» with the finale of the series» Stranger Things» and promised» a little more content than in the fourth season».
Indeed, the final season of «Game of Thrones» received harsh criticism from viewers — in particular for the hasty resolution of some characters’ storylines (mostly through death) and the sudden transformation of Daenerys into a villain. Earlier, the showrunners of the series stated that hoped for a better perceptionwhile Jon Snow actor Kit Harrington admitted that the final was really rushed, but it happened «because of the huge fatigue».
«Stranger Things» has also become a favorite for many viewers — and a real hit for Netflix (for a long time it was the most popular English-language series on the platform), but in anticipation of the finale, some fans are skeptical about the end of the story. In particular, there are questions about how the adult cast will be handled — we should probably expect a certain jump in the narrative time.
