These are the two Apple devices most often given for the New Year (spoiler — not iPhone)

CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners), a company specializing in marketing research, has conducted a pre-holiday survey to find out which Apple devices are in the greatest demand as gifts for Christmas or New Year.

A quick note: CIRP only focused on Apple’s core products, such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch (although AirPods seem to be very popular during the holidays as well).

As a result, the winners were Apple Watch and iPad: 9% of respondents received the smartwatch as a gift for the New Year holidays (2% during the year for other holidays), while 6% of respondents gave the tablet as a gift (— 2% for other holidays).

The iPhone was particularly unpopular as a New Year’s gift item, with less than 1% receiving it (closer to 0%). Macs were given to 1% of users — both on New Year’s holidays and throughout the year.

Quite expected results, aren’t they? Considering the cost of the devices.
