Toyota «blew up the» market with the bZ3X electric crossover from €13500

Toyota has officially unveiled its most affordable electric crossover, the bZ3X. The new electric vehicle, created by the GAC-Toyota joint venture, has proved extremely popular due to its interesting features and affordable price.

Toyota offers two versions of the bZ3X:

• The basic model (without the «smart driving» system) costs from 109800 yuan (about €13500 or $15170). It has five equipment options.
• The version with smart driving starts at 149800 yuan (about €18500 or $20700).

Power reserve and performance of the bZ3X

The company offers different battery options, which has a significant impact on autonomy:

• The 430 Air is the cheapest version with a 50.03 kWh battery that provides a range of 430 km (CLTC).
• 610 Max is the flagship configuration with a 67.92 kWh battery and a range of 610 km (CLTC).

It should be borne in mind that CLTC indicators often differ significantly from the actual mileage.

The electric vehicle is 4600 mm long, 1875 mm wide and 1645 mm high. The wheelbase is 2765 mm. Toyota focuses on the comfort of the car. The interior of the bZ3X is called «mobile space, comfortable as a home». The front and rear seats can be folded down to create an almost 3-meter-long area for relaxing or transporting bulky cargo.

The interior of the electric vehicle offers a 14.6-inch multimedia screen with voice control and an 8.8-inch display for the driver. The new bZ3X is the first Toyota vehicle to be equipped with the Momenta 5.0 Intelligent Driving System based on NVIDIA Drive AGX Orin X. The system has 25 ADAS (advanced driving assistants) functions, including:

• Autopilot on the highway
• Parking with remote control
• Traffic assistant in traffic jams
• Control «blind spots»

GAC-Toyota claims that this technology makes them one of the first automakers in the world to implement a new generation of intelligent driving system. The car will learn and improve its skills over time.

Only in the first hour after the start of sales, more than 10 thousand orders for the Toyota bZ3X electric car were placed.
