Netflix has shown the first trailer for the sci-fi film «Electric State» by directors Anthony and Joe Russo.
The film takes viewers to an alternative 1990s where humans and intelligent robots once coexisted peacefully. The film is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Simon Stolenhage, which received critical acclaim in 2017.
The main role in the movie is played by Millie Bobby Brown. She plays Michelle, a teenage girl traveling through a devastated world. Her life changes after she meets the robot Cosmo, who is controlled by her younger brother Christopher.
Michelle sets out to find her brother, whom she thought was dead. She is joined on the journey by smuggler Keats (Chris Pratt) and his sarcastic robot assistant Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie).
The cast also includes Jonathan Ke Kwan, Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, and Stanley Tucci. Woody Harrelson, Bryan Cox, Jenny Slate, and other stars provided the voice of the robots.
The film was directed by the Russo brothers, known for their work on Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The script was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who also worked on Marvel blockbusters.
The premiere of «Electric State» on Netflix is scheduled for 2025.
