Disney released the first trailer for the series “Daredevil: Born Again,” with Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock.
The series “Daredevil: Born Again” is essentially a reboot of the show about Matt Murdock, which aired on Netflix for three seasons (the new series will become part of the official Marvel universe). Charlie Cox will return to the lead role, as will Vincent D’Onofrio, who will reprise the role of Wilson Fisk / Kingpin — Murdock’s longtime enemy.
“Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with special abilities, fights for justice through his law firm, while former mobster Wilson Fisk engages in political activity in New York. As their past identities begin to emerge, both find themselves on a path of inevitable collision,” according to the official synopsis.
Previously, Marvel TV producer Brad Winderbaum noted that the plot of the series “Daredevil: Born Again” will offer plenty of political intrigue and bloody battles — in a story similar to “Game of Thrones.”
“Imagine New York becoming as complex, problematic, and terrifying as the world of ‘Game of Thrones.’ Here, all forces compete for control — sometimes it’s dark and brutal, and sometimes there is hope for a bright future worth fighting for,” Winderbaum explained.
The new “Daredevil” debuts on Disney+ on March 4 and will consist of 9 episodes (originally announced as 18, but the series encountered a creative reboot, so it settled on half that number). Also, the studio, before another round of reshoots, said goodbye to lead writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, as it had “different visions” with the duo.
