Ukrainian robot_dreams has launched a contest for «coders» — giving $1000 for the «weirdest» one-line code

Published by Kateryna Danshyna

Ukrainian educational platform robot_dreams launched a contest for «shitcoders», in which the winner will be offered a cash prize for the strangest one-line code.

The company notes that they want to stir up the Ukrainian IT community and get creative in this way — and, in fact, it is a good marketing ploy, as the winner will be given the money only as a deposit that can be spent on any of the courses.

How to participate?

  • You can register for the contest via bot on Telegram (you will be asked for your email and phone number).
  • Next, you will be asked to solve one of the tasks (or come up with your own) with just one line of code (up to 1000 characters in any programming language).
  • The author of the strangest code will receive a trophy and a $1000 deposit.

The jury included experts from the leading IT companies in Ukraine — GlobalLogic, SoftServe, and Universe Group. The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria: the interest of the idea, the originality of the implementation, and the correctness and efficiency of the code. The results will be announced on October 31.
