Ukrainians choose new Chinese electric cars: the most popular model is ZEEKR 001

In September 2024, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with almost 1.2 thousand cars imported from China. This is 8% less than in the same period of the previous year. Overall, cars of Chinese origin accounted for 16% of the of the September market of new passenger cars.

Out of the total number of Chinese cars imported to Ukraine, the share of new cars is 77%, or 911 units. Used cars account for 23%, or 265 units. At the same time, it is worth noting that the number of new cars imported from China increased by 3% over the year. At the same time, the number of used cars imported decreased by 34% compared to September 2023. Thus, Ukrainians are gradually abandoning the purchase of used Chinese cars and preferring new models.

Other interesting figures about Chinese-made cars include the following:

• In the segment of used cars registered for the first time in Ukraine, the share of «Chinese» amounted to 1.6%.
• The vast majority of passenger cars from China were electric vehicles – 81%.
