The Ukrainian postal operator “Ukrposhta” and the Chinese marketplace Temu have entered into a “strategic partnership” that will allow for accelerated delivery of goods from China to Ukraine.

As noted by the CEO of Ukrposhta, Igor Smelyansky, last year during a pilot project, the Ukrainian postal operator delivered about 1.5 million parcels from Temu:

“We not only delivered, but also cleared customs and delivered more than 80% of shipments within 3 days or less”.

Temu customers in Ukraine will be able to use the “Ukrposhta” delivery network, which includes over 30,000 service points throughout the country. During the first half of 2025, the Ukrainian postal operator plans to open a new automated international parcel processing center — with the goal of delivering over 90% of parcels within 1-2 days from the moment of crossing the Ukrainian border.

Smelyansky also emphasized that “Ukrposhta” is a leader in export parcels, particularly from China (covering more than 60% of shipments).

According to Forbes data, in just the first three quarters of 2024, the number of international parcels to Ukraine exceeded 53 million units totaling 44.6 billion UAH — 46% more than the entire (!) year of 2023. The largest share is specifically from goods from China: 43% — AliExpress, 22.46% – Cainiao; meanwhile, Temu is showing the fastest growth, with its share last year reaching 12.23% compared to 0.01% in 2023.

Temu is a marketplace for budget goods, known for its aggressive marketing with the addition of gaming elements to the shopping process. Among the products are home goods, cosmetics, electronics, clothing, and more.
