«Ukrzaliznytsia» under large-scale cyberattack — online ticket sales are down for the second day, the SBU has been involved

Yesterday failure in the online systems of JSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» turned out to be a targeted and large-scale cyberattack — restoration of services is still ongoing, with the involvement of the SBU Cyber Department.

«Since Ukrzaliznytsia has been the target of enemy cyberattacks before, the company has implemented backup protocols…. The latest attack was very systemic, non-trivial and multi-level, so before full recovery from backups, specialists from UZ, many involved partners and the SBU Cyber Department must thoroughly test services for possible vulnerabilities», — the message press service.

How can I buy a ticket now?

Online ticket sales are still unavailable, but «Ukrzaliznytsia» has intensified the work of ticket offices at railway stations and extended their working hours. Additionally, international ticket sales at ticket offices (usually — only online) have been activated for March 24 and 25.

The company also advises «not to storm» the ticket offices if the trip is planned later than the morning flights on March 25, so that the staff can fully serve customers with urgent trips for today or tomorrow.

How do I return tickets?

You can still return tickets online: to do this, at least one hour before the flight departure, you need to send an email to services.uz.gov.ua@gmail.com a scanned copy or a clear photo of the ticket and a contact phone number. The application will be processed within 3 days, but from the moment the system is restored.
